अ॒ग्निर्ने॒ता भग॑इव क्षिती॒नां दैवी॑नां दे॒व ऋ॑तु॒पा ऋ॒तावा॑। स वृ॑त्र॒हा स॒नयो॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दाः॒ पर्ष॒द्विश्वाति॑ दुरि॒ता गृ॒णन्त॑म्॥

अ॒ग्निः। ने॒ता। भगः॑ऽइव। क्षि॒ती॒नाम्। दैवी॑नाम्। दे॒वः। ऋ॒तु॒ऽपाः। ऋ॒तऽवा॑। सः। वृ॒त्र॒ऽहा। स॒नयः॑। वि॒श्वऽवे॑दाः। पर्ष॑त्। विश्वा॑। अति॑। दुः॒ऽइ॒ता। गृ॒णन्त॑म्॥

फिर अग्नि के दृष्टान्त से विद्वान् का कर्त्तव्य कहते हैं।

पुनराग्निदृष्टान्तेन विद्वत्कर्त्तव्यमाह।
यो भग इव दैवीनां क्षितीनां नेता ऋतुपा ऋतावा देवो वृत्रहेव सनयो विश्ववेदा अग्निर्गृणन्तं विश्वा दुरितातिपर्षत्सोऽस्माभिस्सदैव सेवनीयः ॥४॥

The duties of the enlightened persons are detailed.
(1) That God should ever be adored by us Who like the sun is the Controller of the divine earth and other worlds, protects all reasons, and is the embodiment and disseminator of truth. He bestows happiness, illuminates like the sun and dissipates the clouds. He is the eternal, knower of all, and takes the devotees who glorify Him and eradicate all evils. (2) Some of these epithets are also applicable to an enlightened person who is the propagator of the truth and giver of happiness. He should be revered and served well.
