सब हम मिल के क्या करें, इस विषय को अगले मन्त्र में कहा है ॥
पदार्थान्वयभाषाः - हे (मरुतः) सभाध्यक्ष आदि सज्जनो ! जैसे तुम लोग (पूर्वीभिः) प्राचीन सनातन (शरद्भिः) सब ऋतु वा (अवोभिः) रक्षा आदि अच्छे-अच्छे व्यवहारों से (चर्षणीनाम्) सब मनुष्यों के सुख के लिये अच्छे प्रकार अपना वर्त्ताव वर्त्त रहे हो, वैसे (हि) निश्चय से (वयम्) हम प्रजा, सभा और पाठशालास्थ आदि प्रत्येक शाला के पुरुष आप लोगों को सुख (ददाशिम) देवें ॥ ६ ॥
भावार्थभाषाः - इस मन्त्र में वाचकलुप्तोपमालङ्कार है। जैसे सब ऋतु में ठहरनेवाले वायु प्राणियों की रक्षा कर उनको सुख पहुँचाते हैं, वैसे ही विद्वान् लोग सबके सुख के लिये प्रवृत्त हों, न कि किसी के दुःख के लिये ॥ ६ ॥
हरिशरण सिद्धान्तालंकार
जीवन के पूर्वाह्न में
पदार्थान्वयभाषाः - १. हे (मरुतः) = प्राणो ! (वयम्) = हम (हि) = निश्चय से (पूर्वीभिः शरद्भिः) = जीवन के पहले वर्षों से ही (ददाशिम) = आपके प्रति अपना अर्पण करते हैं । पचास वर्ष बीत जाने पर प्राणसाधना का विचार उत्पन्न हुआ तो यथेष्ट लाभ होना सम्भव नहीं । शक्ति के संयम की आवश्यकता पचास वर्ष से पूर्व ही अधिक होती है, अतः यही समय प्राणसाधना के लिए उपयुक्ततम है । २. (चर्षणीनाम्) = [सर्वस्य द्रष्टृणाम्] सबके द्रष्टा, सबका पालन व पूरण करनेवाले आप प्राणों के (अवोभिः) = रक्षण के हेतु से, अर्थात् आपका रक्षण प्राप्त करने के लिए हम अपने को प्राणसाधना में व्याप्त करते हैं । प्राणसाधना करेंगे तो शक्ति का रक्षण होकर हम रोगों से आक्रान्त न होंगे ।
भावार्थभाषाः - भावार्थ = प्रारम्भिक जीवन से ही प्राणसाधना में लग जाना चाहिए ।
स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती
सर्वे वयं मिलित्वा किं कुर्य्यामेत्युपदिश्यते ॥
अन्वय:
हे मरुतो ! यथा यूयं पूर्वीभिः शरद्भिः सर्वैर्ऋतुभिरवोभिश्चर्षणीनां सुखाय प्रवर्त्तध्वम्। तथा वयमपि हि खलु युष्मदादिभ्यः सुखानि ददाशिम ॥ ६ ॥
पदार्थान्वयभाषाः - (पूर्वीभिः) पुरातनीभिः (हि) खलु (ददाशिम) दद्याम (शरद्भिः) शरदादिभिर्ऋतुभिः (मरुतः) सभाद्यध्यक्षादयः (वयम्) सभाप्रजाशालास्थाः (अवोभिः) रक्षणादिभिः (चर्षणीनाम्) मनुष्याणाम् ॥ ६ ॥
भावार्थभाषाः - अत्र वाचकलुप्तोपमालङ्कारः। यथा ऋतुस्था वायवः प्राणिनो रक्षित्वा सुखयन्ति तथा विद्वांसः सर्वेषां सुखाय प्रवर्त्तेरन्, न किल कस्यचिद् दुःखाय ॥ ६ ॥

पदार्थान्वयभाषाः - Maruts, dynamic powers of brilliance and generosity, old and ancient, just as you have been giving knowledge, power and protection to humanity since the earliest years of life, so may we, we pray, do honour and homage to you with the faithful gifts of a grateful people.
आचार्य धर्मदेव विद्या मार्तण्ड
What should we all do unitedly is taught in the sixth Mantra.
अन्वय:
O Maruts, (Presidents of the Assemblies and other officers of the State) as you are engaged in doing good to the people in all seasons with your protection, in the same way, may we the men of assemblies, educational institutions and the public at large shall give happiness to you.
पदार्थान्वयभाषाः - (मरुतः) सभाद्यध्यक्षादय:
= The Presidents of the assemblies and other officers of the State.
(चर्षणीनाम्) मनुष्याणाम् = Of men.
भावार्थभाषाः - As the airs in all seasons give happiness to the people by protecting them, in the same manner, learned persons should be always engaged in making people happy and not giving them trouble.
टिप्पणी: In the Vedic Lexicon Nighantu 2.3 it is clearly stated चर्षणय इति मनुष्यनाम (निघ० २.३) and yet Prof. Maxmuller translates the Mantra as For me O Maruts, have sacrificed at many harvests, through the mercies of the swift Gods (the Storm Gods). (Vedic Hymn Vol. I. P. 154). Having given this erroneous and imaginary translation, he puts a strange note on P. 157. "It seems best to take चर्षणी (Karshani) as a name or epithet of the Maruts, although, after the invocation of the Maruts by name, this repetition is some what unusual. I should have preferred "with the help of men, of our active and busy companions for Karshani (चर्षणी) is used in that sense also.(Vedic Hymn Vol. 1. P. 157) This note displays a strange mentality of some of these Western translators of the Veda, who seem to be in doubt about their own interpretation and ye! go on making ill-founded and sometimes un-founded suppositions. When is among the names of men in the Vedic Lexicon. why should it be translated as Storm-Gods ? an impartial reader is at a loss to understand. Rishi Dayananda Sarasvati's translation of the word चर्षणीनाम् as मनुष्याणाम् = Of men is well authenticated.
