वह्निं॑ य॒शसं॑ वि॒दथ॑स्य के॒तुं सु॑प्रा॒व्यं॑ दू॒तं स॒द्योअ॑र्थम्। द्वि॒जन्मा॑नं र॒यिमि॑व प्रश॒स्तं रा॒तिं भ॑र॒द्भृग॑वे मात॒रिश्वा॑ ॥
vahniṁ yaśasaṁ vidathasya ketuṁ suprāvyaṁ dūtaṁ sadyoartham | dvijanmānaṁ rayim iva praśastaṁ rātim bharad bhṛgave mātariśvā ||
वह्नि॑म्। य॒शस॑म्। वि॒दथ॑स्य। के॒तुम्। सु॒प्र॒ऽअ॒व्य॑म्। दू॒तम्। स॒द्यःऽअ॑र्थम्। द्वि॒ऽजन्मा॑नम्। र॒यिम्ऽइ॑व। प्र॒ऽश॒स्तम्। रा॒तिम्। भ॒र॒त्। भृग॑वे। मा॒त॒रिश्वा॑ ॥

हे मनुष्या ! यथा मातरिश्वा भृगवे विदथस्य केतुं यशसं सुप्राव्यं दूतं रातिं प्रशस्तं द्विजन्मानं वह्निं रयिमिव सद्योअर्थं भरद्धरति तथा यूयमप्याचरत ॥ १ ॥

How in that God is taught in the first Mantra.
1. All-pervading God nourishes the soul that carries various articles, renowned, well-protected acquirer of knowledge being like a flag in the world that is to be known, going from place to place like a messenger, soon accomplisher, manifested through the parents and preceptors, sublime like a treasurer, giver of happiness. He supports the soul acquiring mature knowledge. 2. In the case of the fire also the Mantra is applicable. It is the carrier of various articles, famous for various uses when well-protected and utilized. It is like a flag in the world or Yajna (a non-violent sacrifice) being very useful, taking to distant places when used in the form of Railways and thus bringer of great wealth, being like a messenger, produced from two sticks in the Yajnas or from air and fire in subtle form. The air multiplies its force for boiling and ripening etc.
