इळा॑मग्ने पुरु॒दंसं॑ स॒निं गोः श॑श्वत्त॒मं हव॑मानाय साध। स्यान्नः॑ सू॒नुस्तन॑यो वि॒जावाग्ने॒ सा ते॑ सुम॒तिर्भू॑त्व॒स्मे॥
iḻām agne purudaṁsaṁ saniṁ goḥ śaśvattamaṁ havamānāya sādha | syān naḥ sūnus tanayo vijāvāgne sā te sumatir bhūtv asme ||
इळा॑म्। अ॒ग्ने॒। पु॒रु॒ऽदंस॑म्। स॒निम्। गोः। श॒श्व॒त्ऽत॒मम्। हव॑मानाय। सा॒ध॒। स्यात्। नः॒। सू॒नुः। तन॑यः। वि॒जाऽवा॑। अ॒ग्ने॒। सा। ते॒। सु॒ऽम॒तिः। भू॒तु॒। अ॒स्मे इति॑॥

वेदज्ञान-उत्तम सन्तान-सुमति व्याख्या ५.११ पर द्रष्टव्य है। प्रभु से जीवन को उत्तम बनाने के लिये प्रार्थना से परिपूर्ण यह सूक्त है। अगले सूक्त में उत्तम जीवन का चित्रण करते हुए कहते हैं॥ ११॥

हे अग्ने त्वं हवमानाय गोः शश्वत्तमं पुरुदंसं सनिमिळां च साध यतो नो विजावा सूनुस्तनयः स्यात्। हे अग्ने या ते सुमतिर्वर्त्तते साऽस्मे भूतु ॥११॥

May your good knowledge be ever with us so that may we be blessed with the children. In fact, these children spread knowledge and righteousness and are illustrious fulfilling the noble mission of their lives.
