वाशी॑मन्त ऋष्टि॒मन्तो॑ मनी॒षिणः॑ सु॒धन्वा॑न॒ इषु॑मन्तो निष॒ङ्गिणः॑। स्वश्वाः॑ स्थ सु॒रथाः॑ पृश्निमातरः स्वायु॒धा म॑रुतो याथना॒ शुभ॑म् ॥२॥
vāśīmanta ṛṣṭimanto manīṣiṇaḥ sudhanvāna iṣumanto niṣaṅgiṇaḥ | svaśvāḥ stha surathāḥ pṛśnimātaraḥ svāyudhā maruto yāthanā śubham ||
वाशी॑ऽमन्तः। ऋ॒ष्टि॒ऽमन्तः॑। म॒नी॒षिणः॑। सु॒ऽधन्वा॑नः। इषु॑ऽमन्तः। नि॒ष॒ङ्गिणः॑। सु॒ऽअश्वाः॑। स्थ॒। सु॒ऽरथाः॑। पृ॒श्नि॒ऽमात॒रः॒। सु॒ऽआ॒यु॒धाः। म॒रु॒तः॒। या॒थ॒न॒। शुभ॑म् ॥२॥

अथ मरुद्गुणानाह ॥
हे पृश्निमातरो मरुतो ! यूयं वाशीमन्त ऋष्टिमन्तो मनीषिणस्सुधन्वान इषुमन्तो निषङ्गिणः स्वश्वाः स्वायुधाः सुरथाश्च स्थ शुभं याथना ॥२॥

Now the attributes of the Maruts. (heroes) are told.
O you highly educated and wise men , sons of the firmament you are endowed with admirable speech and knowledge, armed with daggers! spears and swords, carrying good bows and arrows and are giver, you possess of good horses and chariots. With your wood weapons, O heroes! to do good deeds or to achieve victory in battles.
