युवा॑ सु॒वासाः॒ परि॑वीत॒ आगा॒त्स उ॒ श्रेया॑न्भवति॒ जाय॑मानः। तं धीरा॑सः क॒वय॒ उन्न॑यन्ति स्वा॒ध्यो॒३॒॑ मन॑सा देव॒यन्तः॑॥
yuvā suvāsāḥ parivīta āgāt sa u śreyān bhavati jāyamānaḥ | taṁ dhīrāsaḥ kavaya un nayanti svādhyo manasā devayantaḥ ||

पुनः कीदृशो विद्वान् भवतीत्याह।
योऽष्टमं वर्षमारभ्य ब्रह्मचर्येण गृहीतविद्यो युवा सुवासाः परिवीतः सन् गृहमागात्स उ विद्यायां जायमानः सञ्छ्रेयान् भवति तं देवयन्तो धीरासः स्वाध्यः कवयो मनसोन्नयन्ति ॥४॥

The golden path of learning is pointed out.
Well-clad and well-read comes a Youngman. He has acquired knowledge with the observance of Brahmacharya (continence) from eight years onward. He becomes excellent, and is brought up in the womb of the mother Vidya (wisdom and knowledge). Steadfast far-sighted wise men or seers who are experts in imparting good knowledge and who desire the true welfare of their pupils, elevate them to good knowledge and perfection of mind.
