पति॑र्भव वृत्रहन्त्सू॒नृता॑नां गि॒रां वि॒श्वायु॑र्वृष॒भो व॑यो॒धाः। आ नो॑ गहि स॒ख्येभिः॑ शि॒वेभि॑र्म॒हान्म॒हीभि॑रू॒तिभिः॑ सर॒ण्यन्॥
patir bhava vṛtrahan sūnṛtānāṁ girāṁ viśvāyur vṛṣabho vayodhāḥ | ā no gahi sakhyebhiḥ śivebhir mahān mahībhir ūtibhiḥ saraṇyan ||
पतिः॑। भ॒व॒। वृ॒त्र॒ऽह॒न्। सू॒नृता॑नाम्। गि॒राम्। वि॒श्वऽआ॑युः। वृ॒ष॒भः। व॒यः॒ऽधाः। आ। नः॒। ग॒हि॒। स॒ख्येभिः॑। शि॒वेभिः॑। म॒हान्। म॒हीभिः॑। ऊ॒तिऽभिः॑। स॒र॒ण्यन्॥

हे वृत्रहन्निन्द्र राजँस्त्वं महान् विश्वायुर्वृषभो वयोधाः शिवेभिः सख्येभिर्महीभिरूतिभिः सह सरण्यन्सन् सूनृतानां गिरां पतिर्भव नोऽस्मानागहि ॥१८॥

The same subject of functions and duties of the enlightened rulers is stated.
O King like the sun you dissolve the clouds, and being great you shower happiness, long lived and upholder of our lives (by making proper sanitary and other arrangements). Come to us with your (yet) doubtful friendship and mighty protection, for we desire your proper movement and knowledge. Be the Lord (Master) of true and sweet speech.
